The first one was Sweet Meat Jerky in the Teriyaki flavor. It says it has soy and black pepper. The bag also says the jerky is organic, made with grandmas recipe and that the jerky was made with passion and joy. I can't say the jerky was bad but it was no where as the average bag of H-Joe's jerky. The sweet meat was a little dry and way too peppery. The bag was nothing special on the marketing side
The second one was Righteous Felon O.G. hickory jerky. The Righteous Felon jerky has the bettor marketing of the two and a very amusing joke story on the back of how the company was started. In additon, I think the paper looking bag was a good touch but no where catchy as the H-Joes bag. The jerky was more tender than the Sweet Meat Jerky and didn't taste bad but was no where close to the same league as the H-Joe's Memphis BBQ.
My feeling is that the more I eat the H-Joes jerky, the more it feels like I am eating a premium product. I guess I would compare it to eating a really good piece of pizza and then eating a slice of Little Caesars. Little Caesars has its place gut its no where as good as the premium slice of pizza you love and crave. I think the HJOE's jerkey is going to pave the way for the rest of the product line.
