Commando...it's entirely possible he may do something like this....I mean the guy just picked up 600K,...not that it's huge money...but probably near enough to get this thing lit up again. Even egomaniacs need congress and a vice president! 
It's entirely possible he hires someone in the field who can run this thing for precisely the reasons you state.....especially if the "deal" with the "southern company" falls through... My guess is that's his next step if this extension fails to bear any fruit... we'll see !!
