It's an anachronistic system that more and more is based upon an assumption of moral and ethical superiority of rural over urban, uneducated over educated, the economically ravaged over the more prosperous.
I make no such assumptions and I seek no denial of representation to either group. After all, we have it in the election of U.S. Senators and gerrymandered U.S. Representatives, both of which are popular elections.
Continued denial of direct election of the president is a recipe for disaster.
And you still can't make an honest statement of what you would argue if Trump won the popular but lost the electoral vote.
