Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) slammed Democrats holding up the latest of President Trump's cabinet appointments up for committee votes.
"It is time to get over the fact that they lost the election," he told The Hill.
Earlier Tuesday, Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown organized a party-line boycott of the Senate Finance Committee's vote on treasury secretary nominee Steven Mnuchin.
Senator Robert Casey Jr. of Pennsylvania said Mnuchin either contradicted himself on-the-record or exhibited a "lack of clarity" in some of his testimony.
Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), accompanied by committee members Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Bill Nelson (D-Fla.), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) and Bob Casey Jr. (D-Pa.), discusses opposition to the nomination of Tom Price as HHS secretary. (AP)
McConnell said that if those committee members hadn't found fault with Mnuchin's and Price's testimony, they would have found other ways to delay their votes, and have successfully caused "chaos" on Capitol Hill.
