ST. LOUIS — Whole Harvest, a subsidiary of Bunge North America, will expand its non-bioengineered/non-G.M.O. oil capabilities by adding facilities in Modesto, Calif., and Oakville, Ont. The two facilities will allow Whole Harvest to offer more soybean and canola oils verified by the Non-GMO Project to food service operators in the United States and Canada.
Whole Harvest already offers Non-GMO Project verified oils produced at its Warsaw, N.C., facility.
“Restaurants adding non-G.M.O. and organic menu offerings will continue to be a key driver of growth in U.S. food service,” said Mark Stavro, senior director of marketing for St. Louis-based Bunge North America, the North American operating arm of Bunge Ltd. “Adding more facilities capable of producing non-G.M.O. verified products enables us to leverage our powerful supply chain to support food service operations focused on growth through this trend.”
All Whole Harvest oils are expeller-pressed. The company also offers soybean oil certified organic through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Program. By law, organic oil must be non-bioengineered/non-G.M.O.
