On "The First 100 Days" tonight, "Angel Mom" Laura Wilkerson and immigration advocate Jose Antonio Vargas debated President Donald Trump's executive orders on illegal immigration.
Trump signed two executive actions on Wednesday that cover a range of immigration enforcement measures, including calls for constructing a U.S.-Mexico border wall and targeting sanctuary cities.
Wilkerson, whose son was killed by an illegal immigrant, said she's relieved that we finally have a commander-in-chief who's going to uphold U.S. immigration law.
Vargas argued that the vast majority of illegal immigrants are not criminals, but merely people who are trying to live the American Dream.
He said that he's one of millions who are living in the "gray area," and it was a tough day for him, with Trump taking aim at undocumented immigrants.
"I don't know if you understand what a 'tough day' is in the life of a parent who's lost a child at the hands of an illegal in this country," Wilkerson said. "You're legal or illegal. It's one way or the other. There's no 'gray area.'"
She said there's a process for becoming a legal American citizen, and it needs to be enforced.
