kind of like reputation, you give someone person marks if you like them or their posts or they are helpful, whatever.  that way when someone realizes they are thoroughly useless in real life they can come on here and point out all their person marks and feel all cool, etc  

that being said i'd appreciate it if everyone would give me a person mark now :p
