Tuesday on Special Report, Bret Baier questioned Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) over his decision not to attend President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.
Cohen, a Memphis Democrat said he is doing so to "let my district know that they have a voice in Washington."
He said his district was upset about Trump's criticism of Georgia Democrat John Lewis, a Civil Rights-era icon as "all talk... no action" after Lewis called Trump's election "not legitimate."
Baier asked whether it was possible Trump was talking about Lewis' post-Civil Rights record, as he has been serving Atlanta in Congress since 1986.
Cohen said Trump should've sent a personal letter to Lewis instead of criticizing him publicly via Twitter.
Asked about the approximately 20 percent of his district that supported Trump, Cohen said his office still facilitated inauguration ticket requests despite the Congressman's planned absence.
"[Trump] doesn't know about Civil Rights and that's important to me," Cohen said.
