TARP passage and the Bush 'bridge loans' to the au
Post# of 65629
Remember when TARP didn't pass on the first vote and the DOW dropped about 900 points?
Bush came on TV and pleaded with Congress to vote again and pass it. The look in in his eyes screamed out "pass it mf's, or the whole thing is coming down around our ears."
It's as though only Bush, the Fed chairman, the Treasury Sec and the Dems who voted for it saw into the abyss and actually understood what was staring back at them
"Too Big to Fail", the book and the HBO movie, chronicled the events accurately and entertainingly......in hindsight of course. No fun at the time.
