Hemp, Inc. Set to Grow 3,000 Acres of Industrial Hemp in North Carolina for 2017
SPRING HOPE, NC--(Marketwired - Jan 10, 2017) - Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) is pleased to update shareholders that its wholly owned subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC (IHM), in Spring Hope, NC, has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Mullen View Farms and one with John Finch Farms in North Carolina. According to the signed LOI with Mullen View Farms, IHM will purchase 1,000 acres of raw hemp that is to be harvested at various locations throughout eastern North Carolina, this year. The signed LOI with John Finch Farms stipulates IHM shall purchase 500 acres of raw hemp stock from John Finch Farms. As with Mullen View Farms, the raw hemp is to be harvested at various locations throughout eastern North Carolina, this year.
With these LOIs, Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) will now have a little over 3,000 acres of hemp growing. "We are really excited to be working with Mullen View and John Finch Farms. Mullen View Farms owns a huge warehouse, where we currently store some of our kenaf bales, not too far from our industrial hemp processing facility and wants to grow an additional 30,000 acres of industrial hemp for us in the near future. John Finch Farms has grown 200 acres of kenaf (hibiscus cannabinus, a cousin plant to industrial hemp) for us already," says David Schmitt, COO of Hemp, Inc.'s subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC. Schmitt also mentioned John Finch received the National Supervisor of the Year Award, last year, during the NC Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts 71st Annual Meeting.
Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. said, "We are proud to collaborate with other American industrial hemp farmers as we now become part of the modern industrial hemp farming movement. This is a turning point for America and it's a turning point for Hemp, Inc. Hemp, Inc. has the infrastructure in place to process millions of pounds of hemp fibers and stalks a year, on a commercial level. Our 70,000 square foot industrial hemp processing facility, on over 9 acres in Spring Hope, North Carolina, is the only one of this magnitude in North America. The industrial hemp crop is part of history in the making and it is something that will prove to be lucrative not only for the farmers in North Carolina but for Hemp, Inc. as well."
It has been Perlowin's vision to help the American farmers make the U.S. one of the largest hemp producers in the world... to collectively build a new clean green American Industrial Hemp revolution. "When we first acquired our decortication facility, I had a meeting with a representative from a Canadian hemp growing co-op. I was offered $4,000,000 to move the plant to Canada and do a joint venture. The guy relentlessly tried to persuade me by the fact that their co-op was already growing 50,000 acres of industrial hemp and that would give us a huge jump on the marketplace. I thought about it for a minute and then asked David (Schmitt) how long it would take to get enough farmers to grow 50,000 acres of industrial hemp in North Carolina. His very candid response was 'about 3 weeks'. I told the Canadian co-op representative, 'Sorry, my name is not Benedict Arnold. This industrial hemp processing plant is for the American farmers.' Of course, I have nothing against Canadian farmers, I just wanted to keep the plant in America for the American farmers, the American economy and to create American jobs," said Perlowin. (True story, never told before.)
Industrial hemp advocates are optimistic the new 115th Congress session (which convened last week and concludes in 2019) will effectuate a fresh perspective towards industrial hemp nationwide. Like medical and recreational cannabis, hemp has been gaining a lot of attention and more states believe removing it from the Controlled Substances Act could open up a whole new industry. Thus, a federal de-scheduling may not be too far off in the future.
In New Hampshire, House Bill 151 has been pre-filed for the 2017 legislature. It was introduced on January 4, 2017 and referred to the House's Environmental and Agricultural Committee. This bill would remove the state ban on industrial hemp and set the stage to nullify federal prohibition on hemp. While this legislation would remove industrial hemp from New Hampshire's list of controlled substances, this could possibly open the door for a full-scale commercial hemp market in the state by treating it as any other crop for farming.
"This could easily start a trend extending all the way up to the federal level to de-schedule hemp entirely since it makes absolutely no sense that industrial hemp is considered a drug in the first place, any more than corn, wheat, cotton, oats, soybeans, alfalfa, hay, potatoes or tomatoes. This creates an enormous resurgence for farmers all over America to be able to grow industrial hemp, unburdened. What does that mean for Hemp, Inc.? Well, we have the largest multi-purpose industrial hemp processing facility in North America which means business will increase tremendously. The hemp has to be processed and we have the capacity to process it on a large scale. The infrastructure is already in place," said Perlowin.
Hemp, Inc. will also be providing monthly, two-day educational seminars every month beginning late February/early March, 2017. Day 1 of the seminar will be held at a location (to be determined) in Raleigh, North Carolina and Day 2 of the seminar will be held at the industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope with 50 acres of hemp (or Kenaf) growing next door. So far, the company has received over a hundred inquiries and interests for the hands-on seminars. For those interested in attending, teaching, touring the hemp field and hemp processing facility or showcasing your company's hemp products, at these monthly events, click here.
According to Perlowin, the company has already secured an outstanding lineup of experts from at least a dozen states all over the country, including New York, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon and Kentucky. "The Hemp University," as it's called, will educate its attendees on key topics such as transitioning from traditional farming to organic farming, different hemp cultivar strains, how and where to get certified seeds, planting and harvesting industrial hemp, an in depth history of hemp and its many uses, agronomy, permaculture, ecological advantages and many more courses with an ever expanding curriculum.
It will also cover such topics as organic certification, potential licensing fees, what's happening with industrial hemp in different states around America, high CBD strains and different CBD extraction technologies (which will also be installed and showcased at Hemp, Inc. processing facility) and marketability of the crop. The seminars are expected to start in late February/early March, 2017.
"We plan to showcase hemp retail products from all around the country and connect potential distributors with industrial hemp product manufacturers. It will be a one stop shop for everything or the Hemp Hub for every aspect of industrial hemp from seed and soil to sale," said Perlowin.

With the country's largest industrial hemp processing facility and milling operation underway, Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) is strategically positioned as the leader of the re-emerging industrial hemp industry to process industrial hemp and manufacture products made from hemp, as well as Lost Circulation Material (LCM) and other absorbent materials. "America has an industrial hemp processing facility in its own backyard."
The hemp plant can be used to make more than 25,000 products spanning nine markets (agriculture, textiles, recycling, automotive, furniture, food/nutrition/beverages, paper, construction materials and personal care).
ABOUT INDUSTRIAL HEMP
Hemp is a durable natural fiber that is grown as a renewable source for raw materials that can be incorporated into thousands of products. It's one of the oldest domesticated crops known to man. Hemp is used as a nutritional food product for humans and pets, building materials, paper, textiles, cordage, organic body care and other nutraceuticals, just to name a few. It has thousands of other known uses. A hemp crop requires half the water alfalfa uses and can be grown without the heavy use of pesticides. Farmers worldwide grow hemp commercially for fiber, seed, and oil for use in a variety of industrial and consumer products. The United States is the only developed nation that fails to cultivate industrial hemp as an economic crop on a large scale, according to the Congressional Resource Service. However, with rapidly changing laws and more states gravitating towards industrial hemp and passing an industrial hemp bill, that could change. Currently, the majority of hemp sold in the United States is imported from China and Canada, the world's largest exporters of the industrial hemp crop.

HOW HEMP CAN CHANGE THE WORLD
Industrial, medicinal and commercial properties of hemp have been known to mankind for decades. Cultivating hemp does not require any particular climate or soil, and is thus found in all parts of the world and has been found to be a better alternative than other raw materials. Hemp products can be recycled, reused and are 100% biodegradable. The growth speed of the plant is fast enough to meet the increasing industrial and commercial demand for these products. Switching to hemp products will help save the environment, leaving a cleaner and greener planet for the next generation.
"The hemp crop grows dense and vigorously. Sunlight cannot penetrate the plants to reach the ground, and this means the crop is normally free of weeds. Its deep roots use ground water and reduce its salinity. Also, erosion of topsoil is limited, thereby reducing water pollution. The roots give nitrogen and other nutrients to the soil. After the harvest, this soil makes excellent compost amendments for other plants, and hemp cultivation can follow the rotation of agriculture with wheat or soybean. In fact, the same soil can be used to grow hemp for many years, without losing its high quality. The hemp plant absorbs toxic metals emitted by nuclear plants into the soil, such as copper, cadmium, lead and mercury." (Source: www.HempBenefits.org)

Hemp, Inc. on What's Next in 2017 for the Industrial Hemp Industry
SPRING HOPE, NC--(Marketwired - Jan 4, 2017) - As festive gatherings and yuletide celebrations come to an end, Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) executives are looking forward to 2017, especially since there were transformative strides made within the industrial hemp industry in 2016. And what better way for the industrial hemp industry to ring in the New Year than with Rhode Island's "Hemp Growth Act"? The "game changing" Act went into effect on January 1, 2017. Laws governing industrial hemp have now evolved in a total of 33 states (Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia).
Rhode Island's Hemp Growth Act, which took effect January 1, 2017, was originally written so that members of the Narragansett Indian Tribe could grow hemp. However, lawmakers later broadened the language to allow any licensed grower. Under the "Hemp Growth Act" individuals will be allowed to obtain a state license to cultivate hemp for things such as clothing, food or other commercial products. With the newly implemented Act, hemp is now treated as "an agricultural product that may be legally produced, possessed, distributed and commercially traded. The Department of Business Regulation will be responsible for establishing rules and regulations for the licensing and regulation of hemp growers and processors. The Department is also authorized to certify any higher educational institution in Rhode Island to grow or handle or assist in growing or handling industrial hemp for the purpose of agricultural or academic research." (Source: normal.org)
Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP), said, "Now that more people are aware of the benefits of hemp and more states are finding the economic benefits of hemp appealing, hemp has become quite the sought after resource. Until the federal ban is lifted, we all have to continue to educate the public on hemp and its benefits. Hemp, Inc., with the only commercial-sized decorticator in North America, is on the forefront leading the way. Our multipurpose decortication plant is nearing completion and we expect the mill portion of it to be fully operational by the middle of this month. Hemp, Inc. has positioned itself at the cornerstone in the hemp industry."
The U.S. market for hemp is around $600 million per year with over 25,000 uses including food, cosmetics, plastics and bio-fuel. The U.S. is currently the world's top importer of hemp fiber for various products. China and Canada are the top two exporters in the world. Even so, 2017 is definitely brimming with good things to come for the U.S. industrial hemp industry.
Additionally, according to the New Hampshire General Court website, House Bill 151 has been pre-filed for the 2017 legislature. It is set to be introduced on January 4, 2017 and referred to the House's Environmental and Agricultural Committee. This bill "would remove the state ban on industrial hemp, setting the stage to nullify federal prohibition on the plant in practice," according to the Tenth Amendment Center Blog. "The legislation would simply remove industrial hemp from the state's list of controlled substances. This would open the door for a full-scale commercial hemp market in the state by treating it as any other crop for farming."
Perlowin commented, "It would be ground breaking for our industry if New Hampshire passes House Bill 151. It behooves us to repeat this historical ground breaking industrial hemp news."
"The legislation would simply remove industrial hemp from the state's list of controlled substances. This would open the door for a full-scale commercial hemp market in the state by treating it as any other crop for farming."
Perlowin continued, "This could easily start a trend extending all the way up to the federal level to de-schedule hemp entirely since it makes absolutely no sense that industrial hemp is considered a drug in the first place, any more than corn, wheat, cotton or oats. The infrastructure is already in place."
The Tenth Amendment Center article went on to state, "By ending state prohibition, residents in New Hampshire would have an open door to start industrial hemp farming should they be willing to risk violating ongoing federal prohibition... HB151 would simply ignore federal prohibition and authorize commercial farming and production in New Hampshire anyway."
According to VoteHemp.com's 2016 Hemp Legislation Map, the newest hemp states are: Florida with HB 307 on 3/28/16; Alabama with HB 393 on 5/10/16; Pennsylvania with HB 967 on 7/20/16; and, Rhode Island with HB 8232 on 7/18/16. It also mentioned that between January and December, 2016, "nearly 4,000 advocates took action 17,200 times compared to a little over 10,000 actions in 2015." This was recorded by Vote Hemp's advocacy database.
This spring, Hemp, Inc.'s wholly owned subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC (IHM) in Spring Hope, North Carolina is preparing to grow 50 acres of industrial hemp. According to executives, however, the spring planting of industrial hemp hinges on the North Carolina Industrial Hemp Commission (NCIHC) establishing the rules and regulations for the state's agriculture program to grow or cultivate industrial hemp. The Commission convened before the new year on December 22, 2016 to institute the rules and regulations to ensure farmers will be able to plant hemp in time for spring. With more families "going green," farmers see more lucrative opportunity in the environmentally sustainable hemp crop than with any other crop.
Hemp, Inc. is excited at the possibility of growing their own 50 acres of hemp in the spring next to their 70,000 square foot industrial hemp processing plant. A tour of this hemp grow, as well as a tour of the facility, will be part of the monthly two-day seminars being offered through The Hemp University. Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) is also partnering with land owners and farmers across North Carolina to grow hemp. Hemp, Inc.'s wholly owned subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC already has a signed an agreement to purchase 1,500 acres of hemp from BioRegen Innovation Cooperative.
BioRegen Innovations Cooperative (BioRegen) is a cooperative enterprise of farmers, industry experts and seed breeders. BioRegen seeks to build bio regenerative communities throughout the state of North Carolina. Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC, according to the Letter of Intent (LOI), will purchase the raw hemp that is to be harvested from BioRegen's land in eastern North Carolina, approximately seventy-five miles from Hemp, Inc.'s industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope, North Carolina.
"We're in the final stages of bringing our multi-purpose industrial hemp processing facility in North Carolina online and the portion of our mill should be operational mid-January," said David Schmitt, COO of Hemp, Inc.'s Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC. Schmitt is also on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Industrial Hemp Association (NCIHA). The NCIHA was the organization that tirelessly petitioned to create the North Carolina hemp bill and helped to get it passed and helped with the final ratified bill that is now law in North Carolina. NCIHA has many initiatives in progress to help speed the cultivation and use of industrial hemp. To join the North Carolina Industrial Hemp Association, click here.
According to Schmitt, the company plans to purchase an additional 1,500 acres of hemp with other North Carolina farmers thus bringing the total hemp acreage to over 3,000 acres and possibly more.

Hemp, Inc. will also be providing monthly, two-day educational seminars every month beginning late February/early March, 2017. Day 1 of the seminar will be held at a location (to be determined) in Raleigh, North Carolina and Day 2 of the seminar will be held at the industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope with 50 acres of hemp (or Kenaf) growing next door. "We plan to showcase hemp retail products from all around the country and connect potential distributors with industrial hemp product manufacturers. It will be a one stop shop for everything or the Hemp Hub for every aspect of industrial hemp from seed and soil to sale," said Perlowin.
Companies interested in showcasing their products and industry experts who would like to speak at these events should visit www.thehempuniversity.com.
David Schmitt, COO of Hemp, Inc.'s subsidiary, IHM, said, "We expect a dynamic seminar lineup. The Hemp University will feature something for everyone looking to either break into this industry or grow their business. All of the farmers we currently work with are growing Kenaf but are eager to switch to industrial hemp."
Hemp, Inc.'s commercial, large scale, 70,000 square foot industrial hemp processing facility, on 9 acres of land in Spring Hope, North Carolina is the only one of this magnitude in North America. It is indeed bound to become the mecca of this new clean green agricultural and industrial American revolution.

The hemp plant absorbs toxic metals emitted by nuclear plants into the soil, such as copper, cadmium, lead and mercury." (Source: www.HempBenefits.org)

Financial Results:
Gross revenues for the year ended August 31, 2016 totaled $5,240,639 as compared to $4,043,897 for the year ended August 31, 2015. The increase in sales was 29.6% and most of this increase occurred after the Company's successful listing on the TSX Venture Exchange in April 2016. We publish monthly sales reports that have showed strong month to month increases in sales since. The net loss for the year was roughly $3.24 million, however this loss includes a one‐time non-cash expense of $1,866,146 that recognizes the reverse takeover of the public shell and a non-cash expense of $1,014,928 for stock based compensation. In addition to these factors, the Company expended significant funds on building the brand and infrastructure that will support future sales. Cash on hand as of August 31, 2016 was $1,454,047 and net working capital of $2,323,954. We believe this is sufficient cash to finance the Company and its growth strategy over the next year.

Glut of Chinese Hemp Nut on Korean Market – Produces Quality Concerns
Charles Holmes comments on the November dip in sales:
"Hempco® sales to Korea went on hold for 3 weeks when tons of Chinese hulled hemp seed flooded the Korean market. Koreans are very quality conscious and cautious of Chinese products consumption. Hulled hemp seed "hearts" are made by shattering the hulls and separating the yellowish white meats inside from the shells and any foreign matter that may have come off the fields. Hempco® product specs are 99.9% clean from the farmer to our facility, and up to 10 parts foreign matter (wheat and/or other grains / seeds, chaff etc.) and average 10 hemp seed shells. Hemp seed meats have a "skin" or "pericarp" around them much like a peanut or sunflower seed which is dark green and VERY nutritious. Depending on time of year and type of seed and processing variables, there can sometimes be more than normal amounts of pericarp mixed with the whitish hulled hemp seed nut. Korean customers have associated this "dark green skin" as lower quality and/or of inferior Chinese product origin and are questioning the quality of Hempco® product. Hempco® staff has been helping educate the Korean customers and re-affirm the quality specs and standards."
Hempco® has experienced more than 100% increase in sales this quarter vs the same quarter last year. Despite this increase over last year, it should be understood that there is a seasonal nature to the business. Sales traditionally slow in the October to December period with a corresponding rebound in sales starting in January. "December sales have already started to rebound off November and we expect this will carry through the New Year. We currently have $1 million in product that is in transit and will be recorded as revenue when it is delivered in December." says CEO, Charles Holmes.

Lexaria LOI & PLANETHEMP Brand - Award Winning Innovations Hempco Food and Fiber Inc. Corporate Developments

VANCOUVER, Nov. 29, 2016 /CNW/ - Hempco Food and Fiber Inc. (TSXV: HEMP) ("Hempco®" is pleased to announce that Hempco® has entered into a letter of intent (the "LOI" with Kelowna, BC, based Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (OTCQB:LXRP) (CSE:LXX) ("Lexaria" for the licensing of its proprietary absorption and palatability enhancing technology for hemp food products.
Pursuant to the LOI, Hempco® and Lexaria will begin lab tests and formulations this week to evaluate proprietary methods of applying Lexaria's newly-patented technology for Hempco's customer needs and demands. Hempco's already excellent award winning food products may be enhanced with Lexaria's patented technology.
"Through combination of Hempco's existing product innovations and proprietary manufacturing methods combined with Lexaria's patented food flavour-masking and nutrient delivery enhancement technology, it is hoped to create manufacturing and technology synergies powerful enough to further widen a quality gap that other hemp food providers and the world's leading brands in the sector, will find difficult to match," said Charles Holmes, Hempco CEO.
Financial terms of the LOI are not disclosed at this time and are still under negotiation, but have already been narrowed down to agreed upon ranges. The LOI is anticipated to advance into a definitive agreement within 90 days but there is no assurance of this. Further details regarding the completion of the definitive agreement and formulation development and testing will be announced as information becomes available. Readers should note that if a definitive agreement is completed with Hempco®, much of Lexaria's financial compensation is dependent upon the marketplace success of the Hempco® products enhanced with Lexaria's technology.
"I could not be happier than to engage in this LOI with Hempco," said Chris Bunka, CEO of Lexaria Bioscience Corp. "We immediately begin product formulation testing and evaluation, and will work with all types of hemp food products such as proteins, seeds, oils and derivatives thereof, as we determine the most advantageous methods of embedding superior technology into Hempco's product mix."
Hempco® and the Holmes family are pioneers in hemp protein powders and innovators in manufacturing and global distribution of hemp based foods with wide applications. "In our efforts to make the finest and most innovative and healthy hemp seed foods possible, the Lexaria technology is a perfect fit for us. It's an excellent addition to our award winning PLANETHEMP brand retail line of products," continued Hempco CEO, Charles Holmes.
Hempco also announces that its PLANETHEMP Smoothie Mixes was a runner-up in the Best Functional Drink category at the World Beverage Innovation Awards 2016, sponsored by Ardagh Group, at BrauBeviale in Germany. Click for more information:

Hemp, Inc. to Grow 50 Acres of Industrial Hemp in Spring 2017

Hemp, Inc. to Grow 50 Acres of Industrial Hemp in Spring 2017
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Nov 21, 2016) - Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) executives are pleased to report that its wholly owned subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC (IHM) in Spring Hope, North Carolina is set to grow 50 acres of industrial hemp next door to their NC processing plant in the Spring of 2017. According to executives, however, the Spring planting of industrial hemp hinges on the North Carolina Industrial Hemp Commission (NCIHC) establishing the rules and regulations for the state's agriculture program to grow or cultivate industrial hemp. While the Commission has not yet announced a date of when the rules and regulations will be established or released, farmers across the state are hopeful it will be in time to plant hemp during the Spring next year. With more families "going green," farmers see more lucrative opportunity in the environmentally sustainable hemp crop than with any other crop.
Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) said, "Not only are we excited at the possibility to grow our own 50 acres of hemp in the Spring, we are also partnering with land owners and farmers across North Carolina to grow hemp, such as the 1,500 acres we announced in a previous press release, while we complete the final stage of bringing our multi-purpose industrial hemp facility in North Carolina online. We've planted Kenaf successfully. Now we are ready for hemp."
To see the video of America's largest hemp processing facility (70,000 square feet under roof, on 9 acres) and 60-foot silo installation, click here.
While the company is looking forward to growing hemp on its 50 acres, Perlowin said the company will continue to plant Kenaf in 2017 if the Commission has not set official procedures in place by the Spring. "This year, we are growing 420 acres of Kenaf in several counties in North Carolina... providing revenues to several farmers throughout the state," said Perlowin.
Kenaf (hibiscus cannabinus) is an annual, non-wood fiber plant that is indigenous to central Africa. Kenaf is a plant in the Malvaceae family also called Deccan hemp and Java jute. It has been likened to okra and cotton and typically grows 12 to 18 feet tall in a six-month growing season. The raw fiber has been known to grow well in many parts of the United States and has been considered an eco-friendlier way to make paper without cutting down trees. According to DavesGarden.com, "uses of the fiber range from paper, grass mats, fiberglass substitutes, animal bedding, oil-absorbent materials, chicken and cat litter, animal forage, particle board, and potting soil, to name a few."

As the leader in the industrial hemp industry, Hemp, Inc. will also provide two-day educational seminars towards the end of every month beginning February 2017. Day 1 of the seminar will be held at a location in Raleigh, North Carolina (to be determined) and Day 2 of the seminar will be held at the hemp processing facility in Spring Hope with 50 acres of hemp (or Kenaf) growing next door.
The seminars are expected to start in February 2017.
To see the video of America's largest hemp processing facility (70,000 square feet under roof, on 9 acres) and 60-foot silo installation, click here.
The locale for the industrial hemp educational seminars will be Hemp, Inc.'s multipurpose industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope, NC. "We foresee a huge advantage and benefit for attendees attending 'The Hemp University.' They will not only learn from the best experts in the industry, they will also be able to tour our plant and our crops. It will be very 'hands-on.' We also plan to showcase hemp retail products from all around America and in some cases connect potential distributors with industrial hemp product manufacturers. We plan to make this a one stop shop for everything or the Hemp Zone for every aspect of industrial hemp from seed and soil to sale," said Perlowin.
Companies interested in showcasing their products and industry experts who would like to speak at these events should contact Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC at info@ihempman.com.
Executives are excited to offer such a diverse selection of the monthly industrial hemp seminars, taught by leading experts in their field. This also provides a forum for the tens of thousands of Hemp, Inc. shareholders, where they can go and tour the plant, learn and see, first-hand, what Hemp, Inc. is doing.
Between press releases and ongoing video updates showcasing Hemp, Inc.'s progress including one minute daily video updates from CEO Bruce Perlowin, shareholders can stay abreast of the progress every step of the way. Hemp, Inc. strives to be the most transparent publicly traded company in the industry.
David Schmitt, COO of Hemp, Inc.'s subsidiary, IHM, said, "We expect a dynamic seminar lineup. The Hemp University will feature something for everyone looking to either break into this industry or grow their business. All of the farmers we currently work with are growing Kenaf but are eager to switch to industrial hemp." The farmers also have a major incentive to grow hemp. IHM is looking to purchase up to 5,000 acres of hemp or more and collectively growing up to 50,000 acres, as it reported in a previous press release. IHM have already signed an agreement to purchase 1,500 acres of hemp from BioRegen Innovation Cooperative as reported in a previous press release.
BioRegen Innovations Cooperative (BioRegen) is a cooperative enterprise of farmers, industry experts and seed breeders. BioRegen seeks to build bio regenerative communities throughout the state of North Carolina. Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC, according to the LOI, will purchase the raw hemp that is to be harvested from BioRegen's land in eastern North Carolina, approximately seventy-five miles from Hemp, Inc.'s industrial hemp processing facility in Spring Hope, North Carolina.

American Voters Overwhelmingly Approve Marijuana Reform in 2016 Presidential Election
LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Nov 14, 2016) - Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) executives are pleased to report that last week's 2016 elections marked a significant day for not only Presidential-Elect Donald Trump but for the marijuana sector as well. An unprecedented nine states had marijuana initiatives included in their ballot. Voters in four of those nine states (California, Nevada, Maine, and Massachusetts) made marijuana legal for recreational use and voters in another four states (Arkansas, Florida, Montana, and North Dakota) approved medical access to marijuana. According to one news source, the cannabis trend is clear... "60% of Americans support legalizing weed, up from 31% in 2000." And the "market for both recreational and medicinal marijuana is now projected to grow to $22 billion by 2020, up from $7 billion this year."
Arkansas' Medical Cannabis Act, in which "affordable dispensing" will give price breaks to low-income patients, was passed by 53%. California's Adult Use of Marijuana Act, in which prior convictions can be expunged, was passed by 55.8%. Florida's Use of Marijuana for Debilitating Conditions Initiative, for qualifying debilitating conditions, passed by a whopping 71%, 11 points more than the supermajority it needed. Maine's Marijuana Legalization Act, which allows for home growing of up to six plants was passed by 50.3%. Massachusetts' Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act, which also allows for home growing of up to six plants, was passed by 53%. Montana's Medical Marijuana Initiative, which allows marijuana to be sold at dispensaries, was passed by 57%. Nevada's Initiative to Regulate and Tax Marijuana, in which a patient or caregiver living 25 miles from the nearest dispensary can grow up to eight plants, was passed by 54%. North Dakota's Medical Marijuana Legalization Initiative, in which a patient or caregiver living 40 miles from the nearest dispensary can grow up to eight plants, was passed by 63.7%. (Source: Freedom Leaf Magazine, Historic Results of the Marijuana Election 2016, Nov. 9, 2016)
Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) said, "The trend is apparent. Legalization of industrial hemp closely follows the legalization of recreational marijuana, provided it's not already legal in the state. (Industrial hemp is so low in THC that you can't smoke it... there are absolutely no psycho active effects at all.) This gives Hemp, Inc. a major advantage. Our multi-purpose industrial hemp decortication processing facility in Spring Hope, North Carolina is the only commercial, public company focused on processing industrial hemp on a large scale. We are years ahead in building the infrastructure to process industrial hemp and sizable amounts of hemp fiber, hemp hurd, and core. We can effectively grow and farm high fiber cultivars and high CBD cultivars, as well as current investigations in large scale commercial CBD extractions." It is also important to note that California legalized not just marijuana but industrial hemp as well. To see the video showcasing the dramatic footage of our hemp and Kenaf grows, click here.
"This year's election has widened access to cannabis, especially those seeking some sort of alternative treatment for severe illnesses. When you look at how the medical marijuana and industrial hemp sectors have progressed, it's evident the tides have turned. Take Florida, North Dakota and Arkansas for example. Similar ballot measures failed. Fast forward to today. They collectively passed by roughly 63%. This was an even bigger electoral victory for marijuana reform since 2012, when Colorado and Washington first approved the drug's recreational use," said Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP).
Presidential-Elect Donald Trump fully supports medical marijuana. According to Extract.suntimes.com, Trump was quoted during a campaign rally in Sparks, NV saying, "The marijuana thing is such a big deal. I think medical should happen -- don't we agree?... And then I really believe we should leave it up to the states." To hear Trump's full response regarding marijuana legalization during his previous campaign rally, click here. Trump has apparently been a long-time believer that marijuana should be legalized. In 1990, at an event hosted by the Miami Herald, Trump said, then, "You have to legalize drugs to win that war." With Trump's stance on cannabis, hopefuls see great things for the medical marijuana and industrial hemp sectors in 2017.
According to Reason.com, "the consequences of this nearly complete sweep were dramatic. Prior to the election, four states with a combined population of 17 million (Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington) were willing to allow cannabis consumption without a doctor's note. Now the number of pot-tolerant states has doubled, while their population has nearly quadrupled and includes one in five Americans. The long overdue conversion of California, which by itself accounts for 12 percent of the country's population and 15 percent of its economic output, carries special political and cultural weight." Last week's elections "also gave us the first two medical marijuana states in the South and increased the number of states with such laws from 25 to 28, meaning states that refuse to let patients have whatever relief cannabis can give them are now in the minority."
Marijuana Majority Chairman Tom Angell, in response to Trump pledging to respect state marijuana laws, said, "Reversing course and going against the tide of history would present huge political problems that the new administration does not need."
In North Dakota, Valley News Live reported:
Implementing Measure 5: Medical Cannabis for North Dakota
"Just like our neighbors to the East in Minnesota, North Dakotan's can now get a prescription for medical marijuana. The issue was on our ballot Tuesday as Measure 5. Voters easily passed it with an almost 65% approval." (Read full article here.)
The New York Times reported:
Californians Legalize Marijuana in Vote That Could Echo Nationally
"California, Massachusetts and Nevada legalized marijuana on Tuesday (11/8/16) in what advocates said was a reflection of the country's changing attitude toward the drug. With the addition of California, Massachusetts and Nevada, the percentage of Americans living in states where marijuana use is legal for adults rose above 20 percent, from 5 percent." (Read full article here.)
In Montana, the Flathead Beacon reported:
Montana Passes Measure to Expand Medical Marijuana
"Montana voters approved an expansion of medical marijuana, one of four citizen initiatives on the ballot, which is the most in any state election since 2010. The passage of Initiative 182 means that marijuana dispensaries will be able to re-open after they closed in August to comply with a state Supreme Court order." (Read full article here.)
In Florida, WFTV reported:
Medical Marijuana Passes: What's Next?

Legal Marijuana Is One Thing Many Americans Agreed on Tuesday Night
"American voters widely backed loosening marijuana laws across the country on Tuesday, permitting recreational use on both coasts, and dramatically expanding the number of people who can use pot as medicine or just for fun." (Read full article here.)
The Verge reported:
This Election Was a Tipping Point for Marijuana Legalization
"California is the state with the largest economy and -- now that it has legalized pot -- the national weed industry has tripled in size. In fact, California's marijuana industry could be bigger than its famed wine businesses. (Read full article here.)
In Denver, The Joint Blog reported:
Denver Voters Legalize Cannabis Use at Public Venues
"Denver voters have given approval to Initiative 300. Initiative 300 allows cannabis to be consumed onsite at various adult-only venues. This includes bars, nightclubs and other such outlets. This gives cannabis consumers legal outlets to use the plant outside of a private residence." (Read full article here.)
For states where industrial hemp has not been legalized yet, there is no need to wait for an election cycle. An Industrial hemp bill can be passed in a state while Legislature is in session. If the state House and Senate both pass a bill, the Governor can either sign or veto the bill. If signed by the Governor, the bill becomes law. This is how most of the 32 states that legalized hemp passed their industrial hemp laws. To see the video showcasing the dramatic footage of our hemp and Kenaf grows, click here.
