CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Jan. 12, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- This weekend, three indoor track and field competitions will take place on tracks made by Mondo , the global leader in the track and field , indoor sport and contract flooring markets.
The Arkansas Invitational (opens as PDF) will take place Friday, Jan. 13, on a Mondo Super X Performance surface at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
On Saturday, Jan. 14, the Champion Fast Track HS Invitational will be contested on a Mondotrack surface at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, while in Clemson, South Carolina, the Clemson Invitational (opens as PDF) will be held on a new Mondo Super X 720 track.
The track at Clemson is a state-of-the-art banked track designed for high-performance running events. The NCAA Division I university recently installed it, making it the first banked indoor track in South Carolina. Banking allows athletes to safely maximize their speed and performance on the curves instead of decelerating, which they must do on flat surfaces. During the track’s inaugural track meet last weekend, student-athletes set six new facility records.
