I hate to be the conspiracy theorist, but what he basically did there was admit someone else may be involved yet doesn't know who VERT is....
I didn't see him say I still own it or don't or - this is what happened...
It could easily be seen as a dodge once again...
If I were him I'd be ignoring this completely or ending it definitively which he can.

That means he's following this soap opera which again why admit?
