Shepard Smith had a gripping phone call with a witness of Friday's shooting at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport that left at least five people dead and eight injured.
John Schlicher recounted seeing the shooter open fire on bystanders at the airport baggage claim area and then reload his gun twice.
"People on either side of me were going down, so I dropped to the ground, my mother-in-law and my wife did," he said. "The firing just went on and on."
Authorities said that one suspect was in custody, identified as 26-year-old Esteban Santiago according to Sen. Bill Nelson (FL). Nelson said Santiago was carrying a military ID.
