Yes- I 've even seen this reason reported in 10Q's as the reason for temporarily suspending reporting and I've posted from said 10q's of other companies before to show how widespread secrecy is in the competitive mining business but bashers almost always had those posts removed while they were simultaneously making fun of the secrecy idea.
Not major companies perhaps because major co's oerations are public knowledge. But CWRN is 1st iron ore producer in Baja-our favorite basher used to say everybody knows theres no ore in Baja--it possible that other steelmakers dont even know there is iron ore in Baja yet -let alone CWRN-and Bao wants to keep it that way until they have a concrete relationship/exclusivity-just like real estate agents etc.
Bao doesnt want other Chinses steelmakers to even know about CWRN's existence -let alone their financials etc until Bao is comfortable w their position in CWRN. Thats why theres been such a silence re shipping also since Dec when I believe Bao obtained an NDA possibly as a quid pro quo for paying CWRN for the 60k tons of ore at port-the probable 4.2 million profit from that Dec payment allowed CWRN to finish paying off investors notes on equipment and to buy the heavily customized trommel and other much needed equipment.
Once they start receiving a heathy revenue stream form the 200k tons of product to be sorted by the trommel, in addition to the cement product (already paying much of the overhead) that should make a big difference and hopefully free money for stockholder friendly actions like the long promised buyback.
Secrecy is so prominent in mining that when 1 mining co opened its log of ore resources that sent a shockwave through the mining community. I also posted that from an independent article before and it was also removed by bashers. That mining co opened its secrets re ore resources they had in desperation in an attempt to get financing from other companies before the co went bankrupt.
CWRN and Baos relationship is not an ancillary business deal as you know but a very important game changer that once all the wrinkles are ironed out will bring much greater investment /production/income and greatly simplify logistics. A lot of things have been hush hush -even privately- since Bao paid for ore in Dec-which told me there was now an NDA.
