Social Media is Coming to Your Vision
PR Newswire
IRVINE, Calif., June 21, 2016
IRVINE, Calif., June 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- EP Global Communications, Inc. (Public OTC: EPGL) announced today that it is working to build the first successful "Augmented Reality" contact lenses with a coalition of mobile app providers and at least one major mobile network service provider. "Your smart phone will be in your vision, if we are successful," says Michael Hayes, President of EPGL. "It's a massive new space." Imagine rock-climbing, running or cycling and a message comes in from Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. No problem, you'll see an alert right in your field of view. Imagine you're in a foreign country and you need instant language translation. You'll see it in real-time. Imagine images or text streaming into your field of view without you having to do anything but look at it. Just switch your smart phone to "eye mode". This new market is coming and many experts believe its revenues will rival that of the smart phone. Industry leaders and visionaries believe it is inevitable that all social media and mobile content will be available in augmented vision formats in the future. The total market for augmented vision is estimated to be larger than $120 billion dollars.
EPGL is Leading Giants
For nearly three years, EPGL has been developing technologies with the world's top ophthalmic companies to create flexible electronic circuitry for real contact lenses that can be safely worn by people. EPGL is the first and only company thus far to show public photos of its proven technology at www.epglmed.com. This electronic circuitry is the foundation for the new coming market of augmented vision applications in contact lenses.
EPGL now has several ophthalmic patents pending and recently filed patent for a new optical display system within silicone hydrogel contact lenses which it plans to be the foundation for several applications in augmented vision. The first of the patents is expected to be given an allowance very soon and major companies are already acquiring rights to EPGL technologies.

EPGL Accelerates Smart Contact Lens Program With New Agreement And Partners
Company Announces It Will Share Proprietary Plan with Investors
PR Newswire
IRVINE, Calif., April 21, 2016
IRVINE, Calif., April 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- EP Global Communications, Inc. (Public OTC: EPGL)
The coming market for virtual reality and electronically augmented vision is estimated to be in excess of $150 billion dollars and according to top technology and medical industry experts, it has potential to rival the smart-phone market in the future. Companies such as Google, Facebook and Microsoft are all attempting to enter the field of electronic eyewear and goggles. Enhanced and augmented vision via non-invasive, safe contact lens application, promises to be one of the most revolutionary new scientific advancements in years and this is where EPGL technology is positioned.
EPGL has developed technology in this space with world-class partners at world-class manufacturing facilities and we have proven our electronics circuitry platform to successfully integrate within real silicone hydrogel contact lenses without major changes to the manufacturing process and without distortion to the lenses. In fact, we're the only company in the field thus far, to publish actual photography of the tested and proven circuitry. Not even Google has accomplished this as yet. In addition, EPGL has several patents now pending in the field and we believe we have the superior technology designs for autofocus contact lenses.
Recently, EPGL has had new and larger entities seeking to secure exclusive rights to our technology and in April of 2016, we executed a new Agreement with a truly magnificent world-class company.
As a result, EPGL is now accelerating its program and bringing in new partners and investors to see our technology become what we believe it can be in the marketplace.
Today, we are announcing that we will send a summary of our proprietary plan along with information about who has secured rights to our technology to any bonafide investor or partners who are interested in learning more. To receive the plan summary, those interested must request and execute our NDA available for download starting on April 28, 2016.
We are giving public notice fully 30 days in advance so that as many shareholders and investors as possible, will have the opportunity to request and receive the information. Then, on May 31, 2016 all who have executed the NDA will be sent the information on that day after market hours. From May 31, 2016 and beyond, others will also be accommodated upon request.

EPGL Smart Contact Lens Technology Is Attracting 'Giants' of the Industry
Company Considering its First Major New Relationships
PR Newswire
IRVINE, Calif., April 7, 2016
IRVINE, Calif., April 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- EP Global Communications, Inc. (Public OTC: EPGL). Since Announcing Settlement with CooperVision, Inc., at the beginning of 2016, in which EPGL gained full ownership of its pending patents, EPGL management has been receiving inquiries from major industry titans. The Company is now negotiating its first new relationships since that time while continuing to progress its pending patents. To that end, EPGL has filed the latest in a series of patents pending in the hot new field of smart contact lens technology. The latest filing is for an optic display mechanism within the contact lens which could lay a new foundation for augmented reality (AR) in the field of vision. The original US provisional version of this patent was filed over a year ago and the new PCT filing is not yet public. "The major difference with EPGL's technology and the competition thus far is that we are the only company to publicly show our electronic circuitry material in a photo; which has been proven to integrate distortion free into real silicone hydrogel contact lenses," said Michael Hayes, President of EPGL. "That's a big deal considering our competition is Google, Facebook and Samsung to name a few. EPGL is a major player given some of our pending patents," Hayes added.
What is the big deal about smart contact lens technology you ask? The vision revolution underway with such virtual reality entries as Oculus by Facebook and Hololens by Microsoft is just in its infancy, estimated at $150 billion. The market for augmented reality or "AR" is equally large. That is where contact lenses come in. The holy grail of the industry is to put AR into the smallest, most discrete wearable you can find. Many industry leading CEO's estimate that most of what you can do with your smartphone today will be integrated into or onto your body in the future. Data display and electronic vision enhancement is going to be a major part of peoples' lives going into the future.
Several of EPGL's patents pending have become public in recent weeks resulting in new interest from major companies. In addition to several patents pending, EPGL recently published a photo on www.epglmed.com of its electronic circuitry platform developed and bench tested at world-class contact lens manufacturing facilities. The photo is the only known picture made public to date of electronic circuitry that has been proven to integrate successfully into real-world silicone hydrogel contact lenses. When EPGL was developing the technology with CooperVision, Inc., the challenge was to create electronic circuitry substrate that could withstand the rigors of the state of the art contact lens manufacturing process and come out the other end intact and without distortion. EPGL's design does not require expensive layering techniques or re-tooling of the current mold process during manufacturing, thus making it a very attractive and less costly solution.
The aforementioned patents pending join other EPGL technologies such as its piezoelectric sensor in a contact lens which uses the vibration of the Ciliary muscles in the eye to actuate autofocus capabilities, the technique for creating pre-defined spaces within a contact lens for mechanisms and reservoirs, energy harvesting of the eye movement and an additional non-public patent as yet for changing the focus of a contact lens upon demand by the human eye.
A vision revolution is widely regarded to be "the next big thing" in technology and EPGL is currently getting the attention of the biggest vision companies in the world with new potential relationships developing. Estimates of the market size rival that of the smart phone industry in the years to come. The contact lens format for these technologies is the holy grail because of the discrete and comfortable nature, rather than less desired "Cyborg" styled eyewear such as with Google Glass and other goggles. In addition to the market size of augmented reality, electronically assisted vision correction in the form of autofocus in a contact lens could disrupt the Lasik surgery and ocular surgical markets.

An Update to On-Going Negotiations Between EPGL and CooperVision, Inc.
PR Newswire
IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 12, 2015
IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EP Global Communications, Inc. (Public OTC: EPGL) announces today as an update to our shareholders, that CooperVision, Inc. (CVI) has requested that EPGL make a "bonafide" counter settlement offer to CVI for royalties and cash settlement.
In a counter offer being made today to CVI, good through November 6, 2015, EPGL has agreed to accept compensation for its nearly two years of exclusive work and Intellectual Properties delivered to CVI in the form of perpetual royalties for commercialization of the technologies going forward.
Details must be confidential at this time. However EPGL is willing to publicly say that it can agree to a fairly tiered approach to royalty payments which will only give CVI discounted royalty incentives after a minimum benchmark of $1.1 billion in royalties paid to EPGL is reached going forward for any EPGL technologies commercialized by CVI congruent with an outstanding demand to CVI in 2015. In addition, EPGL will require a cash settlement for time and know-how delivered from April 2014 to the present date.
In 2013, EPGL signed its first Development Agreement with CVI for its "Energy Harvesting" contact lens technology. In April of 2014, a follow up "Second Amended Development Agreement" was executed, giving CVI exclusive first rights to EPGL patented technologies existing at the time as announced in 2014 and subsequent jointly developed technologies. Since that time, EPGL has developed several new ophthalmic technologies in cooperation with CVI, resulting in several patents pending presently, some being jointly held by the two companies.
"We are not going to let our work and Intellectual Properties be had cheaply, especially when industry experts agree that augmented vision and electronic vision correction will be a massive new revenue space in the coming years. We know that we have accomplished important work in the field with CooperVision and we are going to get paid fairly," said Michael Hayes, President of EPGL. "Today marks the first time EPGL has agreed to put forth a counter offer to since we refused CVI's first offers on May 18, 2015, and I believe it signals that we are drawing closer to finally making a deal. That is the goal," Hayes continued. "Our only interest is in building shareholder equity in EPGL by developing and owning only the best new technologies."

EPGL Challenges Google to Update Progress on Smart Contacts by August 31, 2015
PR Newswire
IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 18, 2015
IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EP Global Communications, Inc. (Public OTC: EPGL) announces a challenge to Google to confirm it is up to speed with EPGL in the smart contact lens revolution.
A year ago, Google announced with great fanfare that it had developed a smart contact lens for monitoring glucose levels. Google also announced that they possess technology for an "Autofocus" contact lens. Various executives from Google were quoted as saying that smart contact lenses could help millions of people in the future and other technology writers and industry executives have predicted a multi-billion dollar market is coming. EPGL fully agrees with Google on this point.
EPGL has several patents pending now in the smart contact lens arena, including energy harvesting technology, mass manufacturing of integrated electronics, autofocus and smart lens case technologies. EPGL has not yet publicly announced what it believes to be its most potentially valuable patents pending in the field. But perhaps most importantly, EPGL has invented solutions that will enable microelectronics to be placed into modern Silicone Hydrogel contact lenses for mass market production, without dramatically changing the current manufacturing process. This achievement is critical for the smart contact lens to truly be marketable to the masses with comfort and efficacy.
Today, EPGL is issuing a challenge to Google to update the world on their smart contact lens progress and to announce whether or not they have accomplished the same critical solutions that EPGL has mentioned above. EPGL is challenging Google to make an announcement by August 31, 2015 that it has solved for the critical Silicone Hydrogel mass market production challenges as EPGL has.
"Google is an incredible company with incredibly talented engineers and executives. We have nothing but respect for them, but we believe our little 6 cent per share company on the OTC market is likely beating a $460 billion giant in this coming revolution. We are also very talented," said Michael Hayes, President of EPGL. "We're throwing down this public challenge to see if they have truly accomplished what we have. They splashed the news a year ago now with no updates. We're doing it to show the investment community that EPGL is extremely undervalued in our opinion," Hayes continued.
Today, EPGL is also announcing that it will begin to entertain offers from various investment bankers and partners to help EPGL achieve the next level with the investment community, including higher market tiers. "We are actively seeking potential partners in what could become a very significant revenue space in the next several years; the 'Augmented Reality' or 'Bionic Vision' revolution is beginning," said Dr. David Markus, Vice President of BioMems. "We believe that EPGL will be a major player in this space going forward."

EPGL Invents the "Smart Case" for Contact Lenses
A Unique Device for Storing Future Electronic Contact Lenses
PR Newswire
IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 3, 2015
IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EP Global Communications, Inc. (OTC: EPGL). In the past month, EPGL has been contacted by several Investment firms and some of Silicon Valley's venture capital firms even though EPGL is not currently seeking venture capital. Why is this?
Forbes Magazine summed it up best on July 31, 2015: "Forget about the Apple Watch...we're about to enter the next level of high tech innovation – connecting with yourself."
EPGL's stock has risen 100% since early July 2015. It is becoming more widely known that EPGL has patents pending in one of the hottest developing trends; smart contact lenses. Augmented vision is expected to be a multi-billion dollar industry forthcoming. This includes improved vision correction and the giant market for visual data such as email, text, video and virtual reality projected into the eyes. Contact lenses are the Holy Grail for this technology as recent movies such as "Mission Impossible" illustrate.
EPGL announces today, yet another specific technology it has invented; "The Smart Case" which takes today's average contact lens case and turns it into a computerized data transfer medium, charging medium and analytical medium, all while you sleep at night. "This will be your contact lens' 'Mothership'," said David Markus Ph.D. "Future contact lenses will require much more than just a simple case with solution in it. It's not easy to do all this in a fluid environment where contact lenses must live," said Markus. EPGL has shown the technology to be effective in experimentation at top manufacturing facilities. The Company is positioning this technology and others as essential platforms for major manufacturers to license it.
For the past three years, EPGL has been deeply involved in some key pioneering technology for integration of electronics into soft contact lenses and now has several patents pending. "The future of the smart phone is literally in your field of vision," said Michael Hayes, President of EPGL. "Those who don't believe it are going to be left behind as some companies and investors were left behind in the smart phone revolution. The time to get involved in this revolution is right now, not tomorrow or the next day, in our opinion. Exponential growth of this industry is beginning now."
