Tetrault Tire has decided to go completely green and purchase a $71,000 solar array for it’s roof. The 30,000 kilowatt array is expected to cut the business’s PG&E bill in half and pay for itself in ten years. Tetrault will receive a 30% federal tax credit for going solar, and plans to expand the effort to it’s car wash and Patriot gas station. The array is from Six Rivers Solar and is being installed by Anderson Construction.
“I'm actually really happy that they are on the south-facing side of Tetrault Tire and it's one of the first things you're going to see coming into Eureka,” said Jeremiah Anderson of Anderson Construction. “And it's nice to see the green movement starting to get going and I think people seeing these panels, is going to wake them up about how much energy they can utilize from the sun for free.”
