EUREKA, Calif. - On Monday, a business in Humboldt County was recognized for its work to reduce pollution in Humboldt County. Congressman Jared Huffman presented Six Rivers Solar with the Sustainable North Coast Certificate. It’s an award that recognizes a business for its environmental stewardship.
Six Rivers Solar has been operating since 1980. Since then, staff has completed hundreds of projects. Each of these projects help reduce household energy costs and reduce energy pollution. Staff with the business also inform residents of Humboldt County why they should go solar.
“After 36 years of doing a business that was marginal all the way through and now has become mainstream and accepted by everybody as a solution to climate change, now the business has just gone ballistic," said Norm Ehrlich, the owner of Six Rivers Solar.
Those who are interested in the benefits of solar energy can stop by the store at 818 Broadway in Eureka, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m until 5:00 p.m
