RESTRICTED SHARES AND CERTIFICATES: Before the
Post# of 226
Before the new ownership: restricted share certificates were issued to shareholders. Before that some messing around landed me some weird shares in my account which the "transfer agent" at the time couldn't tell me why or what they were. these were supposedly the first attempt at restricted share ratio conversion.
I recieved correspondence from the company giving me a contact number for the new transfer agent. I was told; because the company is newly owned and my current certificate has expired. I'd be required to either go in person and get it unrestricted and issued a new cert. Or send it in by mail with an attorney letter notorizing it.
Depending on how many shares were issued to you; it is best to do the math to see if it is even worth to get the cert converted. Once converted you'll need to find out "IF" your broker will accept the cert to be sold in the open market.
