Nokia has announced today that it will roll out an update along with Microsoft, for the Lumia phones 820 and 920 that address issues like battery life, Bluetooth connection, and startup.

The update will cover AT&T customers in the U.S. and Rogers subscribers in Canada.

Users will benefit from more efficient and reliable Bluetooth connectivity and startup sequence, enhancements in imaging performance and messaging and better battery management among others.

Other users will get their patch only in February.

Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) : Detwiler differs from Street

Despite the bearish outlook on Apple by some analysts on the Street, research firm Detwiler Fenton say that there is little sign of weakness in demand for the iPhone 5.

Here is their research note content in brief:

• They have found from their check with U.S. retailers that “all indicators point to strong demand with increasing supply.” On a year-over-year basis, Apple’s share is up 20% at Verizon and Sprint while it is flat at AT&T.
• “There has been conjecture about softening demand given recent iPhone5 price cuts at big box retail however this appears to be more of a strategy to increase foot traffic versus demand softening,” they say.
• Apple’s willingness to let retailers cut prices might be indicative of its willingness to move into lower cost phones, according to Detwiler. “We believe the pricing flexibility suggests a greater potential willingness by AAPL to move to lower price points in the future with new product launches in order to secure share,” the analysts write.
• The iPhone 5?s successor will possibly arrive in June. “There is increased chatter in the channel that the next generation iPhone will launch in the June quarter to blunt the impact Samsung’s Galaxy S4 will have on the market and we believe some of the recent bearish notes on AAPL’s March quarter could be a misinterpretation of channel data points.”
• Detwiler expects 50 million phones to sell in the current quarter and 43 million in the March quarter.
