MS Prof. Grilled Over 'Russia Stole Election for Trump' Article

Tucker Carlson grilled a Mississippi college professor on the educator's contention in a Huffington Post piece that "there is substantial evidence that Russia stole the election for Donald Trump."

Prof. Robert McElvaine, a history professor at Milsaps College in Jackson, said that Russia influenced the election by doing things that "made [Hillary Clinton] weaker as it got closer to the end [and] they saw [President-elect Donald Trump] winning."

McElvaine said there was no evidence of altering of American voting machines by the Russians, but that the alleged Russian hacking of Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta's emails were detrimental to the former secretary of state's campaign.

Carlson pressed McElvaine to produce a piece of information from the emails that was sufficient to prove alteration of the election results.

McElvaine said that Russian actors' collective alleged actions were aimed at initially making Clinton weaker, until they determined Trump had a chance to win.

He called the situation an "American issue [and a] patriotic issue."
