We have a department of Indian Affairs....
Its a federal department with a budget in the billions...10+ if memory serves. The problems are so entrenched though.....and I'm not smart enough to know how to fix it.
There are reserves here in Canada that don't have clean drinking water....Some say "well why don't they revert to a traditional way of life"....but starting in the 30s right through to the 70s we snatched native children off reserves and sent them to boarding schools and destroyed their culture.
