I consider Macleans very credible....
Like the US we have an abysmal history in terms of how we treated First Nation peoples. In Canada for an Indian to maintain his or her status....they must live on the reserve, where the biggest problems are remoteness, drug abuse and lack of employment. If they move off the reserve they lose what benefits they get from being a status Indian....its a mess here.
