Common sense
US has to be a fail safe for humanity not a fix to other countries lack of providing for their population basic needs.
When those needs are not provided... wars start and or mass migration and or both....
US and Canada has the means to shield themselves...EU not so much and that is the rub...
and where there is friction there will be a fire
