I did look at a couple Bose bars at Best Buy quick

I did look at a couple Bose bars at Best Buy quickly today needed an external drive for new computer, haven't done any research yet figured I throw it out to this board some great members here with tremendous knowledge. Question is the bar enough or do you need the sub.
