Rubrik Hires Industry Veteran Stephen Alfieris to Lead Federal Sales Strategy

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 7, 2016) - Rubrik, the world's first Cloud Data Management Company, today announced that Stephen Alfieris has joined the company as VP of Federal Sales. With over 25 years' experience working with federal customers, Alfieris will be responsible for driving Rubrik's overarching sales strategy in the Federal Sector, enabling more organizations to reap the benefits of Rubrik's comprehensive Cloud Data Management platform.

Prior to Rubrik, Alfieris was the VP of Federal for ServiceNow, where he oversaw the company's expansion into the market, adding 100 new customers to its portfolio and overseeing a 300 percent growth in total contract value. Prior to ServiceNow, Alfieris was the CEO of IntelliDyne, an IT consulting and engineering firm for the federal market. Before that, he spent over 20 years serving in roles of increasing responsibility at EMC, ultimately leading the company's Federal Systems Division.

"The Federal Sector is a multi-billion dollar market, presenting a unique opportunity for Rubrik to transform the value proposition of infrastructure for federal agencies," said Alfieris."With a strong leadership team and innovative product roadmap, Rubrik has already achieved wins with the US Government and enterprise private sector customers. I look forward to further scaling the company's Federal programs and ensuring even more organizations are able to realize the advantages of its platform."

"Stephen brings a strong background in the Federal sector and exceptional leadership experience in scaling sales organizations," said Bipul Sinha, co-founder and CEO, Rubrik. "His experience will be instrumental as we continue to expand our presence in the Federal market, helping new customers do away with their complex legacy infrastructure and realize the cost savings and efficiencies of our all-in-one scalable solution."

There is a major opportunity for modernization across the Federal government, as the Government Accountability Office (GAO) found that $58 billion of a $79 billion government IT budget in 2015 went towards maintaining legacy IT systems. Rubrik's cloud data management platform provides government agencies with a path forward, enabling them to capitalize on the cost efficiencies of the Cloud while improving the reliability of backups, and dramatically reducing the associated operational costs.

About Rubrik Rubrik has developed the world's first Cloud Data Management platform for data protection, search, analytics, archival and copy data management for hybrid cloud enterprises. Fortune 500 companies use Rubrik to manage data at scale while realizing data-driven services anytime, anywhere. Rubrik has been named to Gartner's Cool Vendors in Storage Technologies, 2016.
