Below you'll find a few links that support the Verizon connection and possible future relation if you read between the lines. On the latest release from Verizon you'll see that they mention Boston, where, we were able (in cunjunction with Verizon) to stream seamlessly the Seahawks, 9er's game coast to coast with absolutely no issues. It's not the smoking gun but, if I was a betting man, I would think there are to many similarities going on in my opinion to just simply ignore. Below you'll find a few links that support mine and many others opinion on this subject matter.

Wishful thinking? maybe! But I wouldn't want to be sitting on the sidelines or shorting this puppy, if this thing decided to come to fruition! All HELL will break lose and the planet will crack and the seas shall part, it'll be the pole shift of all things streaming!
