I have practiced random acts & spontaneous acts
of giving $$ for decades now.

I started by tithing my bachelor days coast to coast when I would
go out for treat and beers putting a nickel for a cup of coffee in one
pocket and 25 cents for a beer there also. People found out and
and sometimes would give money to do that. Pitcher of beer $1.
Anyway:

My 3 favorite stories:

< Walked into a nursing home
and at the 1st old lady in a chair
gave her $25 and told her (a lie)
that the money came from kids
in the neighborhood collecting cans.
She was very tickled with that story.

< A biker friend of mine asked me what
the money was for. I said 'shut ins, shut outs, and babies'.
He said how about a "shut down". I said definitely.
He took me to a disabled young guy in his neighborhood
whose drunken mother was taking his checks to drink with.
He was way under fed over time. I gave him $25 on the spot
under one condition: That he tell no one he had the money &
that he would use it for food. His eyes lit way up.
Gave him another $25 a week or so later the same way.**

**Follow up - that woman was shot dead in bed a few months
later by her drunken date who thought he was being attacked
in the middle of the night.

< I took my girlfriend with me and her 14 yr old son to a neighborhood
government program center so he would see the real world. We asked
for cases where $50 would truly help a person they would know.
They said oh yes. But the money would have to be reported as income
to the feds. We got up and walked out.. Good lesson !!!**

**Follow up A few days later he saw me give $25 to a guy bent
over in a trash can at a carry out pizza parlor looking for food.
Another good lesson !!
