Following Tuesday's agreement between President-elect Donald Trump, Vice President-elect Mike Pence and the Carrier Corporation, Robin Maynard, a Carrier employee for more than 24 years, joined Steve Doocy on "Fox & Friends" Wednesday to express his gratitude over the decision to keep at least 1,000 Indianapolis-based jobs from moving to Mexico.
Carrier announced in February that it had intended to move 1,400 manufacturing jobs to Mexico. The video of the employees hearing the difficult news went viral and it was mentioned by Trump during the campaign.
Tuesday's agreement is in line with Trump's campaign message of keeping American jobs in America.
"I was very excited about it and happy to hear that an agreement had been come to so quickly in keeping the jobs," Maynard said.
Trump and Pence are expected to make the official announcement Thursday in Indianapolis, at which point more details of the agreement are expected to be available.
"I would like to tell him (Trump) thank you for going out of your way and taking the holiday away from your family and working on the Carrier and employees deal and sticking to your word," Maynard said.
