FNC's Carl Cameron: Pennsylvania Laws Make Recount Next To Impossible
Fox News political reporter Carl Cameron drills down on the details of the rules regarding election recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan, two of the states targeted for review by Green Party candidate Jill Stein. The requirements for a recount to go forward in Pennsylvania make it very unlikely that one will go forward.
CARL CAMERON: Michigan is a fairly simple one compared to what happens in Pennsylvania, and there is less effort in Michigan than there is in Pennsylvania because of how difficult it is there.
Recounts could go forward in both, but in Pennsylvania it is particularly difficult. They've got to find three voters from each of Pennsylvania's 9,100 voting precincts, so about 30,000 people who have to have voted. They have to download an affidavit off the web, fill it out, then sign it in the presence of a notary and have it stamped. Then they have to take it to their county clerk's office and have it certified. And different counties have different deadlines -- in fact, the Jill Stein campaign has said that some of the deadlines might already have passed in a few of the precincts. They're basically pushing an all or nothing thing in the next three days. It is a very steep hill. The kind of thing that Donald Trump might suggest is a rigged election a few weeks ago.
