The 24/7 solar capabilities would definitely be a gamechanger. I have no way of knowing for sure, but I suspect there would still be less efficiency acquired thru IR during the night & on cloudy days, even with QD's. But even if the output wasn't enough to power the system on its own & was reduced to a trickle charge during that period, that could still likely help maintain enough charge on a supplemental battery back-up to get thru the night, till the daylight comes back into play again. That's my thinking anyway.
