WSO2 today announced that it has been cited by Forrester Research, Inc., as a strong performer in The Forrester Wave TM : API Management Solutions, Q4 2016 report 1 published November 14, 2016. The report’s findings were based on a 27-criteria evaluation of the 14 software vendors Forrester has identified as the most significant providers of API management solutions that can stand on their own, independent of the vendor’s other offerings. The Forrester Report 2 observes, “APIs are a key foundation of digital transformation: They enable mobile apps, create integrated digital ecosystems across customers and partners, allow firms to benefit from the innovations of digital disruptors, and drive operational excellence.” The report 3 goes on to note, “Done right, APIs create business agility that fosters the rapid business reconfiguration necessary to continually adapt to constant change driven by the need to revamp the customer experience, address regulatory challenges (e.g., European banks with PSD2), and respond to new and changing competition and a wide range of unpredictable scenarios.”
In conjunction with the report, Forrester also published The API Management Buyer’s Guide, Q4 2016 4 on November 14, 2016. The guide examines criteria around API management to help buyers form their vendor shortlists. Among the factors it covers are available deployment options, solution cost and “free forever” production deployment, key value-added functions, and key product features. Report’s Evaluation of WSO2 API Manager The Forrester Wave TM : API Management Solutions, Q4 2016 evaluation of WSO2 was based on WSO2 API Manager 2.0 ; it states 5 , “WSO2 provides a broad, rich open source API platform.
