As communicated in IT-Notice 55/16, a circuit breaker mechanism as well as a special Stressed Market indicator are introduced for Equity Derivatives. The circuit breaker mechanism will be activated in production for sub-sets of products at different dates according to the below schedule:

ISVs and members with in-house trading applications should note that it is mandatory to implement support for the circuit breaker mechanism and the new order book states. Full description of the API and protocol impact can be found in the Equity Derivatives section on our website:

It is also mandatory for members using Trading Workstation (TW) to upgrade to the latest version. The new version includes new columns that display un-scheduled Circuit Breaker states and the Stressed Market indicator.
To accommodate testing of the new mandatory functionalities, circuit breakers and stressed market conditions, a number of scheduled scenarios are currently available in External Test 3 until November 19:
- Circuit Breaker, dynamic halt Every day, triggered sometime between 10:00-10:10 CET Underlying: ALFA, CARLB
- Circuit Breaker, static halt Every day, triggered sometime between 13:00-13:10 CET Underlying: ALFA, CARLB
- Circuit Breaker, dynamic halt Every day, triggered sometime between 11:00-11:10 CET Underlying: OMXS30
- Stressed Market conditions Every day, activated between 11:10-11:20 CET Underlying: FINGB Please note that scheduled Circuit Breakers will only be activated for underlying: ALFA, CARLB and OMXS30. In addition to this, unscheduled Circuit Breakers can occur on underlying EKTAB and DNORD.
