That's what politicians do to win elections and get votes though. They play on people's fears, anger and angst. It's our democracy at work. If Trump were smart, and I have no reason to believe he's not, he should continue to walk back the rhetoric he needed to win, and start to include those people who can help him be the best President possible.
He'll have a major test in early December when the KKK plans a parade in his honor. If he comes out strong against them, you'll see the perception people had against him start to change.
His next test will be in his selection of his cabinet. If he plans on putting Bannon in there, a known anti-Semite and racist, then perceptions will flip back.
Remember what I said close to the advent of this board. Trump was a liberal back in the day. He backed Clinton, was pro-choice and had many liberal ideologies. You don't change the stripes on a tiger that easily. I always thought he was a liberal in disguise.
