I smell something fishy. I have had 2 open orders

I smell something fishy. I have had 2 open orders in for shares for a few days. Was not able to buy 1 share. My limit price was above the current share price. Now this trade comes through for only 800 shares at a lower price. (My orders are for several thousand.) Is this what is called painting?
