FBI to review 650,000 emails on Weiner's laptop: report
By Jessie Hellmann

The FBI will examine roughly 650,000 emails on the laptop of former congressman Anthony Weiner to discover any related to a prior probe of Hillary Clintons use of a private server, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Metadata on the laptop suggests there may be thousands of emails sent to or from the private server Clinton used while she was secretary of state.
The probe had to wait for a court order because the emails were uncovered in an unrelated investigation of Weiner, the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

That order was delayed for reasons that remain unclear, the Journal reported on Sunday.

The review of the emails is expected to take weeks at a minimum and will determine whether the messages are worked related emails between Abedin and the State Department; how many are duplicates of emails already reviewed and whether any include classified information, according to the Journal.

FBI Director James Comey notified Congress on Friday of the discovery of such emails, resulting in outrage from Republicans and GOP nominee Donald Trump

The Clinton campaign, meanwhile, has questioned the timing of the announcement, with less than two weeks until Election Day, and pressed Comey on Sunday to release more information, even releasing a video spot aimed at addressing new questions about the probe.

Clinton campaign press secretary Brian Fallon responded to the Journal's story on Twitter Sunday.

"These are misleading leaks from the FBI and it is shameless," Fallon said.
