Michelle Humiliates Self, Can’t Remember Dem. Senate Candidate’s Name

First lady Michelle Obama may want to look into Centrum Silver after an embarrassing incident in Arizona in which she forgot the name of the candidate she was helping support.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, the first lady was out in the Grand Canyon State to campaign for the Democrat trying to unseat Sen. John McCain from his long-held Senate position. Her name is Ann Kirkpatrick, a thoroughly undistinguished lawyer and congresswoman who makes Sen. McCain’s career of expedient compromise look positively courageous.

Kirkpatrick was one of the Democrats in attendance during a Thursday rally for Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, where Michelle Obama was the guest of honor. Apparently, though, Kirkpatrick is so forgettable that Michelle, well, forgot her. Or at least part of her name.

Arizona is one of the most hotly contested states in the nation, both in the presidential and senatorial races. Turning out voters for Rep. Kirkpatrick is arguably one of the Democrats’ highest priorities this November.

Considering that, how bad is it that Kirkpatrick can’t even rate having her name remembered by the first lady?

For that matter, I’m sure that Arizona Democrats aren’t too happy with Michelle Obama. Kirkpatrick was part of a major push to turn the normally bright-red state temporarily blue, partly because of immigration concerns and partly because of Sen. McCain’s general unpopularity among conservatives. This gaffe is probably going to overshadow a lot of her campaign.

Let’s hope that Kirkpatrick is as easily forgotten by Arizona voters as she was by the first lady.
