Rudy Giuliani: If NeverTrump Conservatives Elect Hillary Clinton, ‘They’re Giving Away the Next 20 to 30 Years’
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a top surrogate for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, joined SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Tuesday morning’s Breitbart News Daily to talk about the closing days of the 2016 presidential campaign.
Marlow invited Giuliani to speak directly to Republicans and conservatives who are not “doing everything they can to stop Hillary Clinton and the encroaching globalist Left.”
“I think they’re kind of giving away the next 20 to 30 years,” Giuliani said. “This election is going to have an impact for at least 20, to possibly 30 to 40 years from now, by the mere fact that the next President of the United States is going to appoint anywhere from almost predictably two to maybe as many as four [Supreme Court] justices, certainly two or three. That’s enough to change the Court, and to make it impossible, should we lose but elect a Republican in 2020, for that Republican president to make meaningful change.”
“She will appoint a Supreme Court that are made up of Elizabeth Warren-type social activists, socialists really, who will find ways to find almost anything that a Republican administration, Congress, Senate House, or president want to do unconstitutional,” he warned.
Giuliani positioned Supreme Court nominations as the number one reason for conservatives to vote for Trump. The number two reason is that “Donald Trump, if you look at his policies, stands for all the things that we’ve always wanted.”
“He will lower taxes, at about the same level that Ronald Reagan and Jack Kennedy did, which is what we believe in – putting more money back in the pockets of people, and they’ll spend it better than government,” he said. “And he wants to do it, really, at a very high level. People will have 20 to 25 percent more in their pocket, next year at this time, to spend, which he believes expands an economy, and I think most conservatives do.”
“He wants to lower the corporate tax, from 35 to 15 percent, which will bring a tremendous amount of business and jobs back to America,” Giuliani continued. “He wants to renegotiate NAFTA so that we don’t end up with an 18 percent tax charged on everything we send to Mexico, and they get no tax on whatever they send to the U.S. That’s why jobs have fled all of Middle America.”
“So when you look at the domestic program, it is extremely conservative. And when you look at the foreign policy program, he wants to expand the military to the size that it should be, to be able to deal with this world of terrorism that we’re in. He wants to do a major expansion of the Army, Navy – a 350-ship Navy which would allow us to patrol two oceans and push China back. A much bigger Army so we can push Russia back to where they belong.”
He said Trump’s vision of a larger Army would also help America “be ready for and fight this war on terrorism, which the Obama-Clinton people pretend doesn’t exist.”
“We’ve had more terrorist attacks in the last ten months than we’ve had at any time since September 11th, both in the U.S. and Europe. So something very, very dangerous is going on, and it is not just what’s going on in Mosul. It’s what’s going on in 30 different countries. There are a thousand ISIS investigations going on in the United States as I speak,” Giuliani noted.
“Do you believe we’ve learned our lesson from 9/11?” Marlow asked.
“No, I don’t think we have,” Giuliani replied bluntly. “I think the Obama administration has undone all of the good done by a lot of the things that were done after September 11 – a lot of the awareness, a lot of intelligence gathering. I think the proof is in the pudding, the enormous number of attacks that have occurred over the last 10 or 11 months, since Obama has shown such extreme weakness: drawing a red line for Assad, and not taking any action, and backing down, and bringing Russia in; getting pushed around by Russia in Crimea and the northern part of the Ukraine; being unable, really, to ever say anything about what he’s gonna do, other than both he and Hillary Clinton announcing no boots on the ground.”
“The minute something happens, the first words out of their mouths are, ‘No boots on the ground,’ which basically says to a terrorist foe, ‘I don’t have to worry about these people. I can just take them for granted,’” Giuliani added.
“This is the woman who ‘reset’ the relationship with Russia, gave up the nuclear defense of Poland and the Czech Republic – which is astounding – and got nothing in return for it, which I believe was the beginning of the end of the Obama-Clinton foreign policy,” he said of Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy record.
Giuliani recalled a conversation with former Defense Secretary Robert Gates about four months ago, in which he told Gates he has always been troubled by Obama and Clinton’s sacrifice of nuclear defense for the Czech Republic and Poland, but “more than anything, I’ve always wondered, what did they get in return for it?”
“And he said – I’ll give you the exact quote – ‘Nada.’ They got nothing for it. So if I’m Putin, tough KGB guy that he is, and I see I can get what Gorbachev couldn’t get from Reagan, I can get from them for nothing, I say to myself: ‘I have a bunch of patsies here I can push around the world’ – which he has,” Giuliani said.
When Marlow lamented that so many on the Right still chase dreams of earning respect and dignity from the liberal mainstream media, Giuliani said he has never entertained such delusions himself.
“I’ve known it from the day that I ran for mayor. I knew that I would be treated differently. I knew I’d be treated unfairly. I knew that I would be subjected to personal attacks that Democrats who hold positions that they agree with are left alone about. I’m just so immune to it now. I take it for granted. But it is so totally unfair,” Giuliani said.
“Look at the revelations about the investigation of Hillary Clinton. That investigation by the FBI and the Justice Department, I can tell you as a 17-year veteran of the Justice Department, was totally crooked,” he said.
“And now, the revelation that the number two guy, his wife got $675,000 from Terry McAuliffe, who’s really a three-dollar bill, completely,” he continued. “This is the guy who was selling the Lincoln Bedroom back in the 1990s, who’s under investigation himself by the Washington office of the FBI for governments not registering and making donations to campaigns. And the husband of the wife that he gives $675,000 to is the number two guy on the investigation of Clinton?”
“And then you wonder, how could you have found all those terrible things about her – destroying 33,000 emails, bleaching them, hammering 13 cell phones – how does she get away with it? Well, she gets away with it because the system in Washington is crooked. It is clearly anti-Republican and really anti-conservative Republican,” Giuliani declared.
He said there was “no question” that a real political movement was behind Trump’s campaign, not just a personality cult surrounding one man.
“All you have to do is go to a rally – and I’ve been to many, many rallies, including the one yesterday in St. Augustine, where we got 25,000 people and 25,000 people waiting outside. These are people who are disgusted with the government, the way it’s been operating, and want it to change,” he contended.
“The biggest applause line he gets now? ‘I’m gonna drain the swamp in Washington.’ These people are outsiders who realized there’s an inside game going on in Washington, where they’re being hurt tremendously, and that’s the movement I think he’s running. He’s running a movement of outsiders against the Washington establishment,” Giuliani said of Trump.
