The tablet is a 200-pound marble slab said to be chiseled with the cherished Christian text between 300 and 500 A.D.
Its opening bid will be $250,000, according to the auction house, Heritage Auctions.
The tablet likely marked the entrance to an ancient synagogue during the Roman era, Reuters reported.
Unearthed in 1913 during the construction of an Israeli railroad, a New York City Rabbi gained ownership of the tablet in 2005.
