Well, we can interpolate from published expectations. Dose escalation is doubled for 2 rounds and then increased by 1/2 for the next 2 rounds, then finally 1/3 increase until MTD. The expected completion is 6 months, which is 5 or 6 rounds. The standard oncology dosing follows a modified Fibonacci sequence starting with doubling then 67%, 50%, 40%, 30%, etc until MTD/DLT. This takes 18 months to 2 years to complete, unless the stuff proves to be toxic even at the lowest doses.
Menon, et al have a very good idea of what they think the limits and effect will be, and what a safe starting dose is. Whether or not they reveal the starting dose, who knows? Sometimes docs think lay people can't handle complex data, or simple data for that matter. Sometimes they are right.
