Who, exactly, would force shorts to cover and under what circumstances? How does a share dividend make it clear to brokerage firms that they are holding short positions? Why is it the fiduciary duty of brokerage firms to cover their short positions in one stock in the open market when a share dividend of another stock is declared?
I assume that for every 20 shares of my SRSR stock certificates that have been sold short by my brokerage firm, the person who sold short will owe me 1 share of IGEX (or the proposed NBTC) after the reverse split of IGEX (12,500 to 1). Is that your understanding?
