$TBEV 5 Things to Stay Away From Post-Workout Ou
Post# of 8672
Our health should always be our first and foremost priority and we should be very careful of what we eat, drink and consume. A little carelessness can become a lifelong regret and that is the last thing anyone wants, lest of all, an athlete. Working out and training is a science in itself as it has its own rules, observations and side effects. Most of the times, we know what to do but we choose to stay in the dark when it comes to knowing what not to do. Similarly, there are many things that one should avoid doing post-workout. Let’s see what they are:
• Take a Break Between Exercises:
After a heated run or several minutes on the tread-mill, never jump to another workout immediately. If you plan to do different workouts or another set of rounds, then allow your body to rest for a moment before proceeding. Let your breathing slow down, let your heart rate return to normal and let your muscles regain some energy. Once you feel like you are back to normal and your arms and legs can function again, only then start another exercise.
• Ignoring your Sports Drink:
First off, pick the right sports drink to consume. The last thing you want to do is to consume a drink full of calories which you worked hard to lose. Choose a beverage, like High performance sports drink, that contains no sugar and hence, no calories. It contains all the ingredients, such as amino acids, you need immediately after a workout to help you regain your spent energy and to fuel your muscles. Make sure you sip it almost religiously after every 30 minutes or so. The last thing you want is to get muscle cramps and get dehydrated, forcing you to cut your workout short.
• Not Taking Care of Hygiene:
Hanging around in your workout clothes is not cool. It could cause all kinds of skin diseases and infections. Make sure to shower and change your clothes immediately after performing a workout.
• Not Consuming a Meal:
Fluids and electrolytes are not the only things that your body loses; it also needs other nutrients, pronto. So, after an intense workout, make sure to consume meals which are rich in nutrients, like carbohydrates and amino acids.
• Not Monitoring Your Progress:
Don’t walk in the dark when it comes to your workout. It is important to monitor your progress and see where you are going and how far you have come.
Remember the aforementioned advices and you’ll do just fine.
