High School Librarian Suspended Over Offensive Tru

A librarian at a Texas high school was reprimanded after putting up life-size cutouts of the presidential candidates uttering provocative messages.
It was the Donald Trump cutout (photo above) that immediately caused a backlash last week at Longview High School. The sign was intended to portray the Republican candidate as saying to students, "Sign in or you will be deported."
There was also a Hillary Clinton version with the quote: "This is the only door to use. Only deplorables use the other door."
Trustees of the Longview Independent School District, located in northeast Texas, suspended the librarian for two days without pay, according to AP.
The district said the cutouts were removed immediately after some Hispanic students complained.
A Hispanic woman whose nephew attends the school expressed her dismay to the Longview News-Journal.
"My nephew was upset about it, and there were several other students who were upset about it," she said. "Some students felt like they don’t belong here — like a certain race of people do not belong here."
The paper reports that the school's population is one-third Hispanic. The school is a 6A, which means it has more than 2,100 students.
