A producer for NBC's 'Today' show said in a memo to staff that host Billy Bush was suspended from the morning program pending an 'internal review' over his vulgar tape-recorded conversation about women with Donald Trump in 2005.
Trump continues to face backlash, including within his own party, as many high-profile Republicans have dropped their support of the presidential nominee.
"There is simply no excuse for Billy's language and behavior on that tape," 'Today' producer Noah Oppenheim said in the memo, Politico reported.
"NBC has decided to suspend Billy, pending further review of this matter."
Oppenheim said he was "deeply troubled" by Trump's and Bush's conduct on the tape.
On the tape leaked last week, Bush and Trump can be heard having a vulgar discussion about women, in which Trump makes a graphic comment about inappropriately groping them.
Trump released a recorded apology and Bush also apologized, saying he was "younger, less mature, and act[ing] foolishly."
Bush, 44, is a cousin to former Gov. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.) and former President George W. Bush.
