Its place. However forest conservation also include harvesting and planting. Hemp was used widely during and before WWII.
Hemp however would destroy the corn alcohol business and possibly cotton business and some aspects of the lumber business.
MMJ side would present some major challenges to the Drug Industry.
Hemp has some of the same collective threats as alternative energy sources does to big oil.
