This obviously greased the gears of the Tweet Machine once more, since it trivialized these comments, which bear remembering, from Trump:

"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're not sending you. They're not sending you. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."

You can add to that Pence's decision last night to refer to Kaine and Hillary Clinton's immigration plan as a "catch and release" program. Nothing shows you see immigrants as human beings with dignity quite like talking about them as though they were fish in a scenic backwoods stream.
