i hope Bill continues to address shareholders both via twitter and conference calls. throughout the IR phase, he has continued to be a source of consistency and passion that has been a grounding force for some who have been rather frustrated by the IR efforts and communication. maybe they will change their perspective on shareholders that question and probe as being a source of information and strength for the company instead of defaulting to the "basher" card. it is as useless as playing the race card in politics. shuts down all positive information exchange and constructive debate. the same has been tried on this board. the amount of back and forth of the pros and cons has dramatically been reduced since the emergence of IR and some of the posters that have been overbearing since.
for those that want the pros and cons, good and bad, and want to keep the ability to have a voice (even if they choose not to use it), you should speak up now and voice concerns and also give credit where and when it is due.
for the record (though it has been stated clearly several times before), i have yet to sell a single share since I started buying back at the bottom. my posting record demonstrates by support and defending of the company and Bill.
i am clearly not a fan of IR (specifically their communication methods, style, or condescension to shareholders) but i will give them the benefit of the doubt going forward with the understanding of what affect real bashers (as in those paid for by toxic lenders to manipulate a stock down) do have on mgmt/IR groups and that it isnt always clear who is who. that being said, if they continue to treat every shareholder interaction as potential negative instead of a potential positive -then they will quickly outlive any short term purpose they currently have. however, it is much harder now to "defend" the company when IR continues to give arrows to the opposition.
finally, i do have shares i purchased on the last trip to the trips that i will use as a trading position. for me, these are a hedge to take advantage of the volatility that IR has injected and what i assume will continue to inject by creating a constant "hype" scenario via twitter. i will continue to hold my core position for Bill to execute his long term plan unless the fundamentals significantly change and/or IR becomes such a distraction that the long term appreciation of the company is pushed out beyond acceptable terms for my horizon.
