A couple things. One, selling on Amazon does NOT replace in store sales, it's in addition to them. Many people who would not buy at a store will buy online. That's just how the economy is nowadays.
Second, it is way for potential customers who don't have access to local sales because the product isn't sold in their market to buy the product.
Why restrict sales avenues for a growing product that has limited distribution? Most numbers I have seen from various size companies get anywhere from 10-25% of their overall sales from online orders.
Extra sales are extra sales. Online sales are not a replacement for in store sales. Again, it's in addition to.
