P2O works. But so far it has not worked commercially.
What if it's really just been processor evolution and inadvertent downtime that's preventing them from advertised uptime, and nothing to do with the machines?
This statement is a non sequitur. It's ALL about the machine.
Huge advances in the technology have taken place, but there has always been another reason to advance the design. Has the last piece of the puzzle been put in place with the new petcoke removal component? Maybe. They still need to put the complete system together and show that it performs as expected. Clearly there have been a lot of excellent engineers working on the design and they have accomplished a lot in a relatively short time. It's just not a fait accompli until the process runs continuously for multiple weeks. It will be very exciting if / when it does. And then there will be all the business logistics being in place to allow continuous operations. Once again hoping that this next year will be THE breakout year.
