Young Executives Changing the Rules of Corporate America
The new CEO at Zaga Studios is making his mark in a very positive way.
(PRWEB) December 3, 2004
America's newest high level executive to put his knuckle marks in the face of corporate USA, is a thirty-something, Zaga Studios CEO, Jamie Brown. Brought in to restructure international production house, Zaga Studios, Brown is turning heads and raising eyebrows with his ferocious, take no prisoners mentality.
"His first day on the job, we were all called into the conference room." Says Frank Flotts, Zaga Studios VP of Technology, "Twenty-five of us sat in there waiting for him for almost 15 minutes. Then, he finally came in and first thing he did was say, 'you, you, you and you, thank you for your service, your fired'. We were shocked. Turns out these people had been steeling money from the company. He proceeded to put everyone on a thirty day probation period to earn the right to keep their job."
Brown's calculated, cut throat management style has been compared to the likes of Bill Gates and John D. Rockefeller. "People forget that Jamie is only in his 30's." says Mark Statham of Telmar Media, "Words cannot explain the genius level this guy operates at. He is rewriting the television industry rule book."
"The thing that makes Jamie such a dynamic leader is his ability to crush and just plain annihilate obstacles and competitors." Says Brad Farina, former competitor, now Executive Agent for Zaga Studios in London, "I ended up joining Zaga because mentally I couldn't compete. It was too draining. He (Brown) had every angle covered in this market. As a company, we were paralyzed. He predicted every move we were going to make and set up roadblocks."
His celebrity and political contacts make him so unbelievably far beyond any other CEO in our industry that the bidding war has started for his services. Will he break his contract with Zaga Studios for greener pastures? Word has it he was offered a $1.4 million contract to go to Germany and restructure an entire television network; there was another offer to head overseas to whip fumbling car manufacturer KIA into shape with a 5 year contract paying over $800k per year. "I have no intention of leaving Zaga Studios. This is my home," Brown says "I know the product inside out and I have a clear vision of the direction we are taking. The press needs to just back off and quit fanning the rumors. I'm not going anywhere." Which leads us to the latest rumor that he has purchased managing shares of the company from former CEO/Founder Jim Mitchell. "Yes, that's true" Brown explains, "the acquisition was a necessity. To take Zaga to the next level I need complete control and more skin in the game." The financial figures of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
In the future we can be sure to hear about international strategic distribution alliances, European merger possibilities and for all you stock watchers, keep your eyes peeled for that Zaga Studios IPO.
