GREE (http://corp.gree.net/), a global mobile social company, today announced the appointment of Andrew Sheppard as Chief Executive Officer of GREE International Entertainment (GIE). Based out of San Francisco and formerly known as GREE International Inc., GREE International Entertainment will focus on creating games that reflect a broader view of the gaming entertainment landscape. As part of this update, Ryotaro Shima has been appointed Chief Operating Officer and Naoki Aoyagi will serve as advisor. GIE will continue to manage current games Modern War and Knights & Dragons, and will focus on building brand new IP gaming experiences that will be announced later this year.

The partnership will involve engineers from GREE's Tokyo and San Francisco offices working with MakeSchool to help develop the curriculum offered to new students interested in learning how to work with key tools in mobile game development culminating in a fully-releasable mobile game after eight weeks.
